Job Description

Peterson Canvas & awning, in operation since 1957, is the most established custom canvas company serving the Front Range of Northern Colorado, and beyond. All of us at Peterson Canvas work as a group to provide the best service possible to our customers. Peterson Canvas is looking to hire a full time industrial seamstress/sewer to increase our production capacity to better serve our customers. We are committed to provide training to the new hire.
Job Title:
Industrial Seamstress/Sewer Job Description:
  • Review job designs, calculate fabric, materials, and give to office manager for ordering.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to understand specifications and requirements.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and work closely with the Head Sewer to review and approve critical steps before cutting, sewing, and completing projects.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Provide accurate estimates based on specifications received.
  • Maintain accurate records of material used, time spent on each project, and production output.
  • Follow safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Skilled sewer looking for a career. Proficiency in using industrial machines or willing to learn. Training available.
  • Need good math and time management skills as well as attention to detail. Physical stamina and dexterity for extended periods of sewing.
  • Construction, design and graphic skills a plus.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent or willing to work towards a GED.
  • Vocational training or certification in sewing or garment manufacturing may be beneficial. Hourly Rate/Schedule/Benefit
  • Hourly rate: $18-$21 per hour, depending on experience. Opportunity for wage increase as pace and skills are demonstrated and developed.
Schedule:
36-40 hours per week.
  • Benefit after 6 months include PTO, Vision and Dental coverage, other health related benefits and participation in a Simple IRA.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
