Responsibilities Measure customers accurately to determine necessary alterations and adjustments Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify garments according to specifications Perform garment construction repairs, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and replacing zippers or buttons Consult with customers to understand their needs and provide professional recommendations for alterations Ensure all alterations meet high-quality standards while adhering to safety protocols Maintain a clean, organized workspace with well-maintained sewing equipment and tools Communicate clearly with team members and customers to ensure expectations are met efficiently Experience Prior experience working in fashion retail or a tailoring environment is preferred Proficiency with sewing machines, garment construction, and sewing techniques is essential Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally Basic math skills for taking measurements and calculating adjustments accurately Knowledge of garment fitting standards and alteration processes Familiarity with fabric types, sewing patterns, and basic garment repair methods is advantageous Join us as an Alterations Tailor and bring your craftsmanship to life by transforming garments into perfect fits!
