Alteration Tailor

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Alteration Tailor to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for garment alterations, repairs, and custom tailoring to ensure perfect fit and quality for our customers. Your expertise in garment construction, sewing, and tailoring will contribute significantly to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sewing and garment alteration, combined with a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities Alter and tailor garments to meet individual customer specifications, ensuring optimal fit and finish Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to make precise adjustments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing Inspect garments thoroughly for quality control, identifying areas needing repair or modification Communicate effectively with sales representatives to understand their alteration needs and provide professional advice Maintain a clean, organized workspace with all sewing tools and equipment properly stored Manage multiple alteration projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines Assist in garment construction or repair tasks as needed, supporting overall production processes Keep accurate records of alterations performed for each customer Skills Proven experience in fashion retail or tailoring environments with a focus on alterations Proficiency with sewing machines and various sewing techniques Strong understanding of garment construction principles and fabric behavior Ability to communicate clearly and professionally Basic math skills for measurements, pattern adjustments, and calculations Familiarity with using a variety of sewing tools and equipment Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team If you are passionate about craftsmanship, attentive to detail, and eager to provide outstanding service, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding Alteration Tailor position.
