Job Description

Job Overview About Us:
Moxie Collective is a creative fashion studio in Houston that helps students bring their design ideas to life through hands-on sewing, crochet, and fashion workshops. We teach everyone from beginners learning their first stitch to aspiring designers developing full collections. We're looking for an experienced Sewing Instructor who loves teaching, fashion, and empowering others through creativity. You'll lead small group workshops that teach students how to sew garments from start to finish — including reading and cutting from patterns, fabric selection, fitting, and construction. You'll guide beginners and intermediate students through each step of creating well-finished pieces while fostering a positive, patient, and inspiring studio environment. Responsibilities Teach students how to sew garments using commercial or drafted patterns. Demonstrate fabric cutting, seam finishing, and garment assembly techniques. Help students adjust fit and troubleshoot sewing issues. Maintain a fun, safe, and creative learning atmosphere. Prepare class materials and ensure sewing machines and tools are set up properly. Offer one-on-one support during workshops. Contribute to curriculum development for beginner and intermediate sewing classes. Requirements Weekends Required- Saturday + Sunday 3+ years of experience sewing garments and working with patterns. Experience teaching or assisting in sewing/fashion classes Knowledge of machine sewing, serging, garment construction, and pattern reading. Comfortable teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Friendly, patient, and passionate about helping others learn creative skills.
