In this role, you will bring your expertise in garment construction and sewing to provide high-quality alterations and custom tailoring services. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to customer satisfaction will ensure each piece fits perfectly and meets our clients' expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant alteration operation from two locally owned dry cleaners, helping customers look and feel their best with expertly tailored garments. Responsibilities Perform alterations, repairs, and custom tailoring on a variety of garments including dresses, suits, trousers, and more Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify clothing according to customer specifications Measure clients accurately, taking into account fit preferences and garment construction details Communicate clearly with customers to understand their needs and provide professional advice on alterations Maintain a clean, organized workspace with well-maintained sewing tools and equipment Ensure all garments are finished to high standards of quality and craftsmanship Manage multiple projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines and customer expectations Experience Proven experience as an alteration seamstress or tailor, preferably within fashion retail or similar environment Strong sewing skills with proficiency in operating sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques Knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, and fitting principles Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, fabric estimation, and adjustments Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients Familiarity with sewing machine maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus Prior experience working in a fast-paced retail setting is desirable Join us if you're passionate about fashion, skilled in garment alteration, and eager to deliver exceptional service!
