Lab Specialist (Welding) 083126-002H Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the part-time position of Lab Specialist on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida. Summary Support the operations necessary for the welding program labs to function effectively and efficiently. Perform clerical work for lab inventory and maintenance and office management functions supporting shop development, procedures related to welding process equipment, material supplies, service orders and safety. Assist instructional staff with maintaining lab equipment, tool rooms, training aids, fuel gases, and metals.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Valid Florida Drivers' license Knowledge of welding industry standards and practices Familiarity with weld shop procedures & safety awareness Communication, writing and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process. This position will require fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable. Physical qualifications:

Work in a shop and laboratory environment. Work outside. Work in noisy conditions; around lots of machinery. Regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds. Access, input and retrieve information and/or data from a computer. The hourly rate is $15.00. This position is externally funded. This position has been approved for up to 28 hours per week. This position is eligible for regular part-time benefits (i.e. vacation, life insurance, etc.).
