Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Upholstery Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring and customizing vehicle interiors, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Your expertise in upholstery techniques, fabric materials, and repair processes will be essential to delivering exceptional results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles, from classic restorations to modern customizations, utilizing your manual skills and technical knowledge to bring vehicle interiors back to life. Responsibilities Measure, cut, and fit fabric, leather, and other upholstery materials according to blueprint specifications and design requirements Reupholster vehicle seats, door panels, dashboards, and other interior components with precision and attention to detail Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and woodworking equipment to complete repairs and modifications Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and installation of upholstery components Repair or replace damaged upholstery parts, including foam padding, fabric materials, leather coverings, and wooden trims Perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or bulky materials or vehicle parts during the upholstery process Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace while adhering to safety protocols for manual handling and tool usage Experience Proven experience in automotive upholstery repair or reupholstering with a strong portfolio of completed projects Familiarity with upholstery techniques such as sewing, fabric cutting, leather work, and repairing worn or damaged materials Knowledge of blueprint interpretation and technical drawing analysis for precise fabrication and assembly Hands-on experience with woodworking for trim restoration or custom interior fabrication Ability to operate a variety of manual and power tools safely and efficiently in a manufacturing or auto restoration environment Strong attention to detail combined with excellent manual dexterity for meticulous craftsmanship Prior experience working with fabric materials, leather, foam padding, and related upholstery components is highly desirable
