Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Assistant to support daily operations in our welding and fabrication shop. We manufacture quench vents and custom sheet metal products and are looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced production environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and advancement while learning fabrication, manufacturing, and shop operations from experienced professionals. Responsibilities Assist welders and fabricators with daily production tasks Build pallets and prepare products for shipment across the country Grind, deburr, clean, and finish fabricated parts Load and unload materials and completed products Package and label outgoing shipments Organize materials, inventory, and work areas Operate hand tools and basic shop equipment safely Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Assist with general shop maintenance and housekeeping Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman Requirements Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Strong work ethic and positive attitude Basic knowledge of reading a tape measure Ability to safely use common shop hand tools Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Punctual, motivated, and a go-getter mentality Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or shop experience Experience using measuring tools and power tools Forklift experience is a plus Interest in welding, fabrication, or manufacturing careers Schedule Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Benefits Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Opportunities for training and advancement Compensation Starting pay based on experience and qualifications Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, motivated, and willing to learn.
