At Norix, we design, manufacture and deliver innovative, robust furniture that meets the real-world need for humanizing challenging environments. We have an opening for a Master Upholsterer at our LEED Gold facility in West Chicago.
What You'll Do:
Communicate inventory/quality issues on the shop floor to inventory specialist Inspect work areas to ensure safe operation Train employees on upholstery work tasks Inspect the work done in Cutting, Sewing, Foam Prep and Upholstery Assist Engineering with upholstered product development Upholstery technical support Effectively communicate deadlines & safety practices Other duties as needed
What Experience You'll Need:
High school education or equivalent 5+ years experience upholstering furniture Experience in a manufacturing environment Expert level knowledge of furniture upholstery Knowledge of critical upholstery/sewing principles Ability to follow directions and work well in a team and as an individual contributor Thorough understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn production equipment Strong listening, communication, and problem-solving skills Detail-orientation and the ability to multi-task Interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective work relationships Ability to adhere to the company's attendance policy, including regular and punctual attendance Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted Benefits include: Hourly pay between $25-$29 Annual bonus opportunity up to 10% based on achievement of company goals Paid Time Off Paid Holidays BCBS medical Company-paid dental insurance (for employees) Company-paid disability & life insurance FSA, vision, accident & ID theft insurance 401(k) with competitive company match Tuition reimbursement Employee Assistance Plan Social events & casual dress code Beautiful campus with electric car charging stations, walking trails, pickleball court, soccer field & fitness center.
