Job Description:
Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and experienced Upholstery Technicians to join our Interior Shop. Were looking for dedicated individuals to perform a variety of upholstery tasks on aircraft interiors.
Job Responsibilities:
Read and interpret design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications. Perform stripping, chemical cleaning, repair, and covering of flat panels, bulkheads, and seat panels. Work with various materials including fabric, vinyl, leather hides, and composites. Utilize specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and power tools. Cut and surge carpets. Layout and inspect leather hides for defects. Trace and cut out seat patterns. Installation of window panels, headliners, upper sidewalls, lower sidewalls, and baggage panels in aircraft. May sew and upholster covers using designs, engineering drawings, and aircraft specifications. Collaborate with lead and higher-skilled technicians to improve safety, reduce costs, and optimize cycle times. Ensure proper protection of aircraft interiors, both inside and outside the aircraft. Comply with all safety and housekeeping policies, and use personal protective equipment (PPE). Utilize a material tracking system for issuing parts and signing off work.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally performing similar upholstery or fabrication tasks. Must have foaming experience. Must have Corporate Aviation experience. Experience with marine or automotive upholstery is preferred, but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and aircraft-specific standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
