Position Overview Steamatic of Kansas City is seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in delivering exceptional results, and enjoys helping customers maintain clean, healthy homes and businesses. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train individuals with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. As a Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Technician, you will provide professional cleaning services for residential and commercial customers while representing the Steamatic brand with professionalism and care. Key Responsibilities Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Perform residential and commercial carpet cleaning services. Clean upholstered furniture, area rugs, mattresses, and specialty fabrics. Perform spot and stain treatment procedures. Apply carpet protectants and specialty cleaning solutions when appropriate. Clean tile, grout, hard surface flooring, and other specialty surfaces as assigned. Equipment Operation Operate truck-mounted and portable cleaning equipment. Set up hoses, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain equipment cleanliness and report maintenance needs. Ensure vehicles and equipment remain organized and professional in appearance. Customer Service Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, property managers, and commercial clients. Explain services, answer customer questions, and provide recommendations when appropriate. Deliver an exceptional customer experience from arrival through job completion. Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times. Teamwork & Professionalism Follow company procedures and industry best practices. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Complete job notes, service documentation, and photos as required. Assist with additional cleaning services and special projects as needed. Qualifications Required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportation. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work. Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Positive attitude and commitment to customer service. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Previous carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, janitorial, restoration, or cleaning industry experience. Experience operating truck-mounted cleaning equipment. Knowledge of carpet fibers, cleaning methods, and stain removal techniques. Sales or customer service experience. IICRC certification or willingness to obtain certifications through company-sponsored training. Compensation & Benefits Earnings & Advancement Starting pay: $18-$20 per hour.
