Job Description

Position Summary:
Performs operation to prepare and assemble a variety of models of frames and/or frame subassemnblies tp quantity and quality standards for upholstered or wood frame furniture.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
1. Assemble wooden parts or assemblies to form sections, frames, or complete pieces of furniture. 2. Trim joints to fit using hand tools. 3. Blow dust from mortises and areas to be glued, using air hose. 4. Apply glue using brush dipped in glue or by using glue filled squeeze bottle to brush clean excessive glue. 5. Knock connecting parts together with mallet or compresses assembled parts in clamp until glue has dried. 6. Drill holes and drive screws into parts to join parts or to reinforce glue joints, using power drill and screwdriver. 7. Inspect and verify accurancy of assembled article for conformance to specified standards, using square and tape measure. 8. Smooth irregular joints with grinder. 9. May perform other duties/special or non-routine assisgnments as instructed.
