Job Description

This position requires an individual with experience in sanding frames using a jitterbug sander, hand sander, and/or flutter sander to smooth all areas of frame, paying close attention to carved detail. Fairfield Chair is seeking an experienced sander who can effectively sand whitewood frames to erase all roughness to prepare for the finishing process. This position requires an individual with experience in sanding frames using a jitterbug sander, hand sander, and/or flutter sander to smooth all areas of frame, paying close attention to carved detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must have ability to learn quickly and recognize parts. Understand correct placement of parts, right / left sides, front / back. English required for reading tickets and instructions. Must be able to setup materials in pots. Must be able to understand and follow a finish specification for quality oriented cuts and use of correct materials.
Qualifications:
Effective communication & interpersonal skills required to build relationships across the business Must have some computer skills and ability to use a scanner Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills Effective organizational, stress and time management skills Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently or as a team member Ability to read work instructions
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, bending for an 8-hour shift Able to lift up to 50 pounds Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects Move products from upholstery locations to finished products
Environment:
