National Speed is a nationally recognized performance automotive shop built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. From performance upgrades and custom fabrication to complete builds, our team is made up of driven people who care deeply about craftsmanship, teamwork, and pushing limits. We work hard, move fast, and build some incredible vehicles along the way. The Role National Speed is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Performance Technician to join our growing team. This role is designed for someone with a solid automotive foundation who wants to continue developing their skills in the high-performance industry alongside our experienced team of Senior Performance Technicians. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically sharp, organized, and genuinely passionate about modified performance vehicles—whether through professional experience, personal projects, motorsports, or enthusiast involvement. This is not an entry-level position, but it is a growth-focused opportunity with a clearly defined path toward increased responsibility, larger projects, greater billed hours, and significantly higher compensation over time. What You'll Do Complete smaller in-and-out and full-day projects efficiently and accurately Conduct pre-dyno inspections and vehicle evaluations Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting Perform work carefully and consistently according to shop quality standards and established processes. Support shop workflow and overflow capacity as needed Take direction from and support Senior Performance Technicians Learn shop standards, workflows, and installation procedures from experienced team members Assist with project preparation, inspections, and quality-control processes as needed Maintain clean, organized, and professional work habits Accurately document findings, issues, and recommendations according to our processes Communicate clearly with leadership regarding project status or concerns Contribute positively to shop culture and team operations What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or independent shop environment Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Clear enthusiasm for high-performance and modified vehicles Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and grow within a structured process Growth Roadmap We are specifically looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the performance automotive industry. You will work alongside and under the guidance of our experienced Senior Performance Technicians who will help develop your technical skillset, workflow efficiency, and understanding of our shop standards. Candidates will be given a clear roadmap toward: More advanced installations Increased diagnostic responsibility Larger and more complex projects Higher billed-hour efficiency Expanded compensation opportunities As capability and contribution increase, compensation will scale accordingly. You will be given a clear roadmap with targets and resulting compensation up front. We value consistency, professionalism, coachability, and reliability just as highly as raw technical ability. —
