Product Development Specialist -
Upholstered Furniture Location:
University Loft Company, New Tazewell, TN 37825 About the Role University Loft Company is seeking a Product Development Specialist to support the creation of upholstered furniture from concept through production to meet company standards. This role will partner with management team, sales, and marketing to deliver market-ready products. Key Responsibilities Design and develop upholstered products (sofas, sectionals, chairs, recliners) Oversees product specifications for new styles and changes Schedule and conduct release meetings for new products Make recommendations for new material design ideas, and methods Ensure quality, comfort, and cost targets are met Qualifications Knowledge of frame design, fabric patterns, specifications, pattern design and upholstery construction Must be able to create foam and fabric patterns, upholster samples, and train line personnel Knowledge of upholstery construction and materials Create Bills of materials on new products Commitment to company values, trade secrets, and confidentiality Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Physical Demands While performing duties of job, employees is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 90% of work will be done in climate- controlled area but must occasionally work in warm to hot temperatures.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
