Job Description

3rd shift 11:00PM to 7:00AM (Sun. - Thurs.)
Job Title:
Weaver Job Objective:
Operate loom efficiently and effectively. Ensure good quality product. Fix and maintain the loom.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Visually inspects production runs for which colors are running primary and accent and assures appropriate bobbin colors are on creel. 2. Visually inspects inventory of yarns, jute, and cotton to ensure appropriate stock levels. 3. Replaces low bobbins as needed. 4. Uses special spindles for crushed or bad bobbins. Separates bobbins to be rewound. 5. Threads yarn along proper path to loom. 6. Visually inspects for crossed yarn on path to loom. 7. Loads proper weights on yarn. 8. Repairs raw goods failures (i.e. jute, cotton etc…). 9. Loads jute tables when necessary. 10. Sweeps and cleans creel and loom area. 11. Communicates with creel manager and shipping department regarding raw goods needs. Equipment Needed to

a. (Frequently) overhead reach up to 90" to thread yarn through creel guides, load proper weights on yarn, to tie knots. b. (Rarely) forward reach moving blower nozzle and moving needle straps to clean and blow lint off of loom. 5.
Low sitting/kneeling/crouch/deep squat:
(Frequently) to place bobbins as low as 12" on bottom rows of creels. 6.
Dynamic crouch/deep squat:
a. (Frequently) to thread yarn through creel guides as low as 12" for up to 40'. b. (Rarely) to clean beneath loom. 7.
Standing/walking:
(Continuously) performing all of the activities that this job requires on a concrete floor in bottom creel level and wood surface on upper creel level. 8.
Stair climbing:
(Frequently) climb stairs to upper level creels. 9.
Step ladder climbing:
(Occasionally) to climb step ladder to place bobbins on top rows of creels up to 90" or to break down yarn or jute pallets. 10.
Balance:
(Continuously) while lifting, carrying, standing, walking or climbing. 11.
Upper extremity fine motor:
(Continuously) to tie knots, load weights and thread yarn through creel guides. 12.
Vision:
(Continuously) to discriminate color, to inspect yarn path, read. To walk and navigate pathways.
