Job Description

•Please visit on site to complete the in person application process• Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support veterinary staff in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being of animals and assisting with various clinical tasks in a fast-paced veterinary environment. Duties (Not limited to) Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Provide basic animal care. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection in the clinic. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments. Prepare animals for procedures by performing tasks such as animal catheterization and administering medications as directed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each animal treated. Assist with laboratory tasks, including sample collection and processing. Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinary staff. Ensure that the clinic environment is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Requirements Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary setting is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is beneficial for understanding patient needs. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus. Willingness to handle cats and dogs of various sizes safely and effectively. Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately. Aseptic technique knowledge is essential for maintaining hygiene standards in the clinic. Must be comfortable with animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and a willingness to learn are crucial for success in this role. Rotating weekends and some holiday shifts are mandatory.
