Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician and play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care and support. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with the veterinarian , technicians, and client service team to ensure animals receive compassionate treatment and efficient services. Whether assisting with medical procedures, managing animal handling, or maintaining a clean and safe environment, you will be at the heart of our mission to promote animal health and well-being. This paid position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their veterinary experience in a fast-paced, supportive setting. Responsibilities Assist veterinarian and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing equipment, restraining animals, obtaining vitals and monitoring patient status Provide compassionate animal handling and restraint for a variety of species, including dogs, cats, equines, birds and small mammals Support animal husbandry duties such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels or cages to maintain optimal hygiene standards Administer medications, perform IV insertions, catheterizations, and other basic medical procedures under supervision Fill prescriptions as needed as well as authorize online prescription requests Process lab samples using in house laboratory machines Maintain accurate records of treatments, medication administration, laboratory tests, and patient observations using veterinary terminology Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners effectively
SKILLS:
Veterinary technician or assistant experience is required with knowledge of veterinary terminology and laboratory procedures (minimum two years of experience) Strong animal handling skills along with animal restraint expertise for safe examinations and procedures Proficiency in medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Ability to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners while demonstrating compassion and professionalism Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication makes a tangible difference in animals' lives.
