Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Cat Veterinary Technician/Coordinator to join our team. The Animal League of Green Valley (TALGV) is a 501(c)(3), not for profit, no-kill cat and dog animal shelter. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to cats as well as help to manage the volunteers. This position requires a strong understanding of animal physiology, excellent communication skills, and a passion for animal welfare. Candidate must be able to work Saturday and Sunday and possibly one other day of the week from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm. Responsibilities Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Monitor animal health and behavior before, during, and after procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Supervise cat care department volunteers Must be able to work with both volunteers, employees and the public. Must be proficient in restraining cats for vaccinations and blood draws. Skills The ideal candidate should possess the following skills: Proficiency in veterinary terminology and procedures. Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior. Experience with animal restraint techniques for safe handling. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with volunteers and the public and write end-of-day reports.
