Job Description
As a Veterinary Scribe, the candidate will be responsible for meticulously documenting medical processes and creating comprehensive medical records for each patient. This entails accurately recording diagnoses, treatments, and other pertinent information to ensure a complete and precise patient history. Additionally, the candidate will provide valuable assistance and advice to veterinarians, contributing to the seamless flow of patient care and enhancing overall efficiency in the clinic. This position presents an excellent opportunity for aspiring veterinary professionals to kickstart their careers, as it offers firsthand experience and the chance to shadow experienced DVMs, gaining valuable insights and knowledge from seasoned practitioners. Ability to communicate effectively with every member of the medical team Maintain professionalism and an exemplary work ethic Work in a fast paced environment Submit lab work and notify doctor when results are in Assist doctors with any non-clinical duties Write clearly and concisely with the ability to type quickly All aspects of patient care, with particular regard to emergency and critical care patients. Maintain appropriate facility records and logs in compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies. Deliver client education. Respect and protect the confidentiality of client and patient information. Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. Interact professionally with clients and fellow staff members. Must be a team player and be able to interact professionally with members of medical treatment team. Handle emergency situations efficiently and calmly. Present treatment plans to clients. Provide updates to clients regarding the status of their pets. Participate in rounds to ensure continuity of care for patients. Ability to multitask. Knowledge of medical terminology. Punctual. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
