Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Veterinary Assistant or Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarian, providing exceptional care to our furry friends, and contributing to the overall success of our veterinary practice. Surgery experience is a plus. We are looking to find someone that is willing to learn more skills to further their career within our clinic. Pay range reflects the amount for a Veterinary Assistant and wages can be discussed if the candidate is a fully trained Veterinary Technician.
Duties:
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas, including kennels and laboratory equipment
  • Provide excellent pet care, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as needed
  • Handle and care for animals in a safe and humane manner
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment
  • Clean and maintain the facility, including kennels and laboratory areas
  • Perform animal catheterization and other medical procedures as directed
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of animal anatomy and behavior
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with animals in a veterinary environment
  • Strong animal handling and care skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing exceptional care and customer service
Skills:
  • Proficiency in animal care and handling
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and behavior
  • Experience with dog training and pet sitting
  • Ability to perform animal catheterization and other medical procedures
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Familiarity with kennel and dog handling practices
  • Strong pet care and animal care skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
