About This Role:
Join our veterinary hospital as a part-time Veterinary Assistant and become a teammate of our animal healthcare team! This position offers the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful difference in animals' lives while building a strong foundation in veterinary medicine. What Success Looks Like:
Compassionate Care Provider:
Handle, restrain, comfort, and reassure animals of all temperaments.
Medical Support Expert:
Assist with treatments, diagnostics, and surgeries; monitor patients; maintain records.
Hospital Caretaker:
Maintain cleanliness, organize facilities, and ensure a sanitary environment.
Communication Liaison:
Relay patient updates and ensure care continuity among the team.
Client Educator:
Communicate care plans, instruct home treatment to clients, and guide medication use. What Makes You a
Great Fit:
Having part-time availability, weekends are a must! Genuine compassion and affinity for animals of all species and temperaments Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain patients for examinations and procedures Excellent attention to detail in monitoring patients and maintaining medical records Ability to follow directions precisely when assisting with medical procedures Effective communication skills with team members and clients Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting patients Ability to remain calm and composed in fast-paced or stressful situations Willingness to perform cleaning tasks and maintain hospital appearance Adaptability and eagerness to learn new skills and protocols Team-oriented attitude with a positive, helpful approach
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required One or more years of experience in a veterinary environment preferred Prior animal handling experience highly valued Basic computer skills for maintaining electronic medical records Associate degree in veterinary technology or continuing education in veterinary science a plus
