We are a new veterinary clinic set to open in Alhambra CA in October 26th as a projection opening date. This is a cross-trained position ideal for someone who enjoys both working directly with dogs and cats and interacting with clients. Responsibilities will include assisting the veterinarian with patient restraint and handling, preparing exam and treatment areas, obtaining patient histories, assisting with laboratory work, radiographs, procedures, dentistry and surgery, cleaning and maintaining the hospital, and helping with general patient care within the scope of the position. Front-desk responsibilities will include answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, processing payments, communicating with pet owners, and helping maintain an organized and welcoming reception area. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, hardworking, organized, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and willing to help wherever needed. Because we are a new hospital, this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the practice and help shape the culture of the team from the beginning. Being able to speak Mandarin/Spanish as a second language is a plus Previous veterinary hospital experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right candidate with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in veterinary medicine. Responsibilities Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safe procedures during examinations and treatments Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and surgical preparation Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices Help with record keeping by accurately documenting patient information, treatments, medications, and procedures in medical records Provide pet care including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal welfare throughout their visit Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, post-operative care, and general clinic procedures Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering client inquiries with professionalism Experience Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is highly desirable Experience working as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary clinic setting is preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and animal husbandry enhances your ability to succeed in this role Familiarity with surgical assistance, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is advantageous Strong skills in dog handling and animal restraint are essential for ensuring safety during procedures Previous experience with client communication and record keeping supports efficient clinic operations Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals while developing your skills in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
