Veterinary Technician/ Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who is a fast learner and has the ability to work independently. Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, compassionate, and has a strong desire to provide quality care to animals. We are looking for someone who can work with other technicians and staff members as well as be able to carry out responsibilities on their own. This position requires strong communication skills, as well as an ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide patient care Perform routine tests (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, EKG etc.)and provide treatment according to the doctors' recommendations Handle emergency cases as needed Conduct routine vaccinations and provide treatment according to the doctors' recommendations Handle animal emergencies and perform routine vaccinations and provide treatment according to the doctors' recommendations Perform procedures under anaesthesia (like dental surgery) and keep accurate records of all activities performed Keep animal rooms clean and healthy

Skills:

Proven experience as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant required. Excellent knowledge of veterinary procedures (training will be provided) Strong computer skills to ensure efficient record keeping and efficient patient care Excellent communication skills (English, Spanish or other language) Attention to detail and reliability are important traits in this job because we have patients that we treat with different types of medicine or conditions that require us to be careful about what we administer or what we do for them at any given time
