Job Description

We are a very busy multi-doctor practice in Campbell. We have a close, hardworking group of dedicated team members and we are looking for, ideally, someone with experience to join us! (However, we are willing to train the "right" person that is a motivated, fast learner, and interested in staying the field long term.) We need someone who has the technical abilities to work with a team and be a main support for our doctors in order to help our animal patients. This person is expected to communicate and engage with our clients, as well. The ideal person we are looking for is an experienced assistant or a licensed technician with at least two years experience in a small animal practice.
Required technical abilities include:
Checking in appointments / entering in SOAP notes. Administration of medication via injection and by mouth. Radiology (restraint, positioning, software use). Communicating to clients regarding animal husbandry/care, procedures, medications/side effects, and doctor recommendations to educate clients. Good communication skills within the team and with clients. Ability to triage. Ability and willingness to help reception staff occasionally. Cleaning and maintaining hospital cleanliness standards. Lab and equipment maintenance. Ability to adapt to different DVM personalities and preferences.
Bonus Abilities include:
Veni-puncture. IV catheter placement. Anesthetic monitoring. California RVT license w/ anesthetic induction/intubation experience. Canine and feline dentistry Experience with using a CubeX machine. Experience with Pulse software. We are looking for a full time team member with an open schedule or possibly a part time person depending on availability. On Saturday and Sunday, we are open 8-5, on weekdays we are open 8-6, so full time members are expected to work 4 days a week;
SATURDAYS REQUIRED.
Occasional later nights are expected with paid OT as indicated (generally not more than an hour after closing). We offer paid holidays, though we do alternate staff members to come in to care for any hospitalized or medically boarded patients (with a minimum of 2 hours pay).
