$22.00-$25.00 per hour | Full-Time | In Person Companion Animal Wellness Center is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team! We are a privately owned, Fear Free and integrative veterinary practice that truly values our patients, our clients, and the people who care for them. We're looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, confident in their skills, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can step in, be comfortable working with patients and doctors, and contribute to the team from day one. What You'll Be Doing Assisting veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, treatments, and procedures Monitoring patients during anesthesia and surgery Blood draws, laboratory procedures, and sample handling Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records Providing client education and helping clients understand their pet's care Fear Free handling of patients Helping keep patients comfortable and calm throughout their visit Working closely with the entire team to make sure patients receive excellent care Assisting with the day-to-day flow of a busy veterinary hospital What We're Looking For At least 2 years of veterinary clinic experience required Strong animal handling and patient care skills Comfortable working with dogs and cats Excellent communication and teamwork skills Someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and takes pride in their work Ability to work well in a team environment and jump in wherever needed Preferred experience: Anesthesic and surgical monitoring Laboratory procedures Exotic animal medicine Exotic animal experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn is just as important! About Our Practice Companion Animal Wellness Center is a little different from a traditional veterinary hospital. We provide comprehensive conventional veterinary care while also incorporating acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, VOM, and other integrative approaches into patient care.
