EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
You must have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Veterinary Assistant in an animal hospital. If you do not have at least 4 years of veterinary assistant experience in an animal hospital, please do not apply.
FULL-TIME POSITION 35-40
hours per week required Open schedule availability required Must be available to work weekends as needed Flexibility with scheduling is essential We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running , work efficiently in a busy hospital, and handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do:
Room and prepare clients and patients for appointments Obtain patient histories and assist with exams Assist doctors and technicians with treatments and procedures Properly restrain and handle dogs and cats Assist with surgery, dentistry, radiology, and patient care Review treatment plans and estimates with clients Explain products, medications, preventatives, and wellness recommendations Assist with pharmacy management, medication preparation, organization, inventory, and refills Provide knowledgeable product and medication information to clients Assist with laboratory procedures and sample handling, experience with Idexx a plus Maintain clean, organized treatment and exam areas Communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary team Multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced hospital
We Want Someone Who:
✔ Has knowledge of vaccines and able to administer ✔ Is confident and knowledgeable -experience with Avimark/Pulse a plus ✔ Can work independently without constant direction ✔ Has knowledge of surgery monitoring, i.v. catheter placement, and administering medication ✔ Understands treatment plans, estimates, medications, and veterinary products ✔ Is dependable, professional, organized, punctual, team-oriented and has excellent client communication skills ✔ Takes initiative and looks for ways to help the team ✔ Provides compassionate care to every patient and client ✔ Has open availability, including weekends This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who understands the workflow of a busy animal hospital and is ready to contribute immediately. Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
