Additional, responsibilities include student instruction as well as client communication and education, including patient admissions and discharges. Work cooperatively with others to foster strong team commitments towards achieving Surgery services objectives.
RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH

  • For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain within 3 months of date of hire.
No minimum education required. Experience working in a veterinary hospital performing physical examinations and safe handling of multiple species. Experience calculating drug dosages and administering medications intravenously, subcutaneously, intramuscular or orally. Experience preparing patients for surgical procedures using aseptic technique. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to engage effectively with diverse students, staff, clinicians, and clients. Knowledge of normal canine and feline parameters and experience obtaining patient vitals. Proficiency in collection of blood and urine samples, placement and maintenance of IV catheters. Preferred Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) License or Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) Experience setting up, operating and troubleshooting various specialized surgical equipment including but not limited to cautery, fluoroscopy and laparoscopic towers. Experience positioning and preparing patients for various surgical procedures including but not limited to Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic Surgery. Experience with surgical asepsis and how it relates to direct contamination of patients, instruments and sterile supplies. Key Responsibilities 45%
