$20-24/hour. Dependent on experience and skill.

Part Time Position Summary:
The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality medical care to animals. This role involves assisting with animal handling, basic medical procedures, cleaning and maintenance of the facility, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for both pets and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with patient care and treatment Maintain inventory and stocking Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital Administering medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision Feeding/bathing animals Answering phones Customer service Helping clients with their pets
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); certificate in Veterinary Assisting or related field (preferred)
Experience:
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or pet care facility is an asset
Skills:
Bilingual (preferred but not required) Strong animal-handling and restraint skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Attention to detail and organizational skills Compassionate and patient demeanor Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 40+lbs and stand for extended periods Comfortable working with animals of various sizes and temperaments Exposure to cleaning agents, animal dander, and bodily fluids
Work Environment:
Veterinary clinic or hospital setting May involve weekend, evening, or holiday shifts
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage based on experience
