The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to ensure the well-being of animals and support pet owners during their visits. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment through the use of aseptic techniques. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to help diagnose animal health issues. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating proficiency in dog handling and animal catheterization. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, including detailed notes on treatment plans and progress. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including dental terminology and general health maintenance. Manage kennel operations, ensuring clean and safe housing for animals in our care. Conduct routine X-ray procedures as needed, following safety protocols for both animals and staff. Monitor animal behavior and vital signs to detect any changes in health status. Qualifications Strong knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is essential. Experience in laboratory work related to veterinary medicine is highly desirable. Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal care is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is a must.
