Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated veterinary team as a Veterinary Kennel Assistant, where your enthusiasm for animal care and handling will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional kennel and animal husbandry services, and ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all animals. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will support the overall health and welfare of our patients while contributing to a positive clinic atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your veterinary skills and work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic setting. Duties Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to promote animal health and safety Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal handling during examinations, treatment Support with animal restraint techniques to ensure safe procedures for pets and staff Handle pet care tasks such as feeding, and providing comfort to animals in our care Able to lift 40 lbs General housekeeping duties Laundry restocking of supplies Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with veterinary clinics is a plus Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively Commitment to animal welfare and safety through proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to clinic protocols Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, record keeping, and pet care procedures This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal health who want to grow their veterinary experience in a supportive environment.
