Job Description

South Orange County Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time or full-time kennel attendant to provide excellent care to our patients. We are a busy, full service hospital that has received great support from this community. You can look at our posts on https://www.instagram.com/socvets/ to see what kind of hospital we are. Our Kennel Attendants are responsible for feeding our canine and feline patients, walking dogs, bathing pets, doing laundry, and keeping all areas of the hospital clean, including cages, runs, and treatment areas. Kennel Attendants must be able to read and follow written instructions, monitor specific criteria, recognize signs of illness, record observations, and communicate information to the veterinary technician or supervisor. Kennel Attendants are responsible for keeping the animals safe and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Love for animals is a must! Comfortable working with cats and all sizes/breeds of dogs (Previous animal handling experience preferred) Team player Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Able to walk, bend, reach, and lift constantly, and able to stand for most of the day Able to lift up to 40 pounds (Restocking, transferring patients, possibly assist in triage of patient) High school or GED equivalent Reliable transportation Able to work some holidays and weekends Additional criteria to be considered are: Previous experience in a veterinary hospital Certified veterinary kennel or certified veterinary attendant To be considered for this position, please email your resume, your availability, and a short paragraph explaining why you would be a good candidate.
