South Orange County Animal Hospital is seeking a doctor's assistant/ exam room assistant to join our growing team. We are a busy hospital with a wide variety of caseload. The doctor's assistant/exam room assistant must be someone who enjoys interacting with people as well as animals, and who can communicate effectively and professionally with the doctors, technical staff, and clients. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, provide exceptional customer service, and demonstrate genuine compassion for our clients and their pets. Our hospital hours are M-F 7:30am-5pm and Sat 7:30-3:30. Flexibility for these hours and Saturday availability is required. Duties:

Admit patients for exams, treatments, or boarding Obtain medical history and TPR; present cases to doctor Present treatment plans to clients, and explain treatments, procedures, and charges Document medical history & maintain accurate medical records Fill prescriptions and clearly explain medication instructions to clients Clean and prepare exam rooms before and after patients Maintain patient flow efficiently, while minimizing client wait time

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of Veterinary Medicine & familiar with standard medical abbreviations Previous experience in small animal hospital (minimum 1 year) Excellent written and oral communication skills High School graduate or equivalent

Additional Qualifications:
