Job Description

McGrath Veterinary Center is a well-established veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality care for our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Our team is passionate about animals and committed to delivering the best possible healthcare in a friendly and collaborative environment. We are currently seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidates will be compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic about providing excellent patient care. You will assist the veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic veterinary clinic. The anticipated starting hourly rate for individuals expressing interest in this position is $21 to $31 per hour. Rate to be determined by the schedule, location, experience, certifications, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
Role Responsibilities:
Ability to perform veterinary technician duties.
Including but not limited to:
venipuncture, IV catheter placement, basic drug calculations, fluids and CRIs, radiology Obtain and run/process lab samples Monitoring and treatment of critical patients Providing critical care and treatments to hospitalized pets Understanding of isolation protocols Monitoring anesthesia Assisting veterinarians with medical notation, client communication, exams, and various medical procedures Preferred knowledge of how to set up various emergency procedures (laceration repairs, unblocking cats, etc.) Restraint of both dogs and cats Comfortable with
IV/IM/SQ
injections Preferred urine collection via cystocentesis ultrasound guided (K9 and feline) Stocking and cleaning
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience High school or equivalent (required) RVT license (preferred) Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients Strong verbal and written skills Strong attention to detail and follow through Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of vital signs and when to alert a doctor regarding patient status Benefits•The good stuff! : 401(k) with employer match Dental insurance Employee discount and free exams Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Bonusly•Employee internal reward program Continuing Education Allowance for RVTs Team building events
Referral Program Schedule:
10 hour shift Day shift Mid Shift Some Holidays Overtime as needed
Weekends Hospital Hours:
