Vet assistant/Technician Topanga Veterinary Clinic Chatsworth, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Interpersonal skills Emergency room experience Veterinary assistant experience Animal restraint Full Job Description Job Summary Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician (After-Hours Clinic) We are seeking a dependable and motivated Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician to join our busy after-hours veterinary clinic team. We provide walk-in urgent care and emergency services during evening hours and are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can remain calm under pressure. Schedule Requirements Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Clinic hours extend until midnight Occasionally shifts may run later during emergency surgeries or critical cases Flexibility is required in an urgent care/emergency setting Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and emergency cases Perform patient triage and recognize urgent/emergency conditions Draw blood and place IV catheters Properly restrain animals for procedures and treatments Assist with surgeries and patient monitoring Take and assist with radiographs (X-rays) Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and bloodwork Administer medications and treatments as directed Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts Keep treatment and exam areas clean and organized Provide compassionate care to patients and professional communication with clients during stressful situations Qualifications Veterinary assistant or veterinary technician experience preferred Emergency or urgent care experience is a plus Knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress, high-volume clinic Strong multitasking and teamwork skills Ability to stay calm and efficient during emergencies Reliable, punctual, and professional What We're Looking For We are looking for someone hard-working, compassionate, and able to think quickly in emergency situations. The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys veterinary medicine and can handle a busy clinic environment with confidence and professionalism.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
