Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Relief Veterinary Assistant to support our high‑volume spay and neuter team. If you thrive in fast‑paced surgical environments and want flexible, low‑stress relief work, this role is a great fit. Relief work should relieve stress — not add to it — and our clinic is structured so you can focus on excellent patient care without chaos. Responsibilities Patient Intake — Assist with check‑in, records, and initial assessments Surgical Prep — Prep patients, maintain sterile fields, and support efficient surgical flow Assist in anesthesia monitoring — Assist in monitor vitals under veterinary supervision Recovery Care — Provide attentive post‑op monitoring and discharge instructions Instrument Care — Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments Clinic Flow Support — Keep the surgical day moving smoothly Animal Handling — Safely restrain animals for exams, injections, and procedures Client Communication — Provide clear, compassionate communication during drop‑off and pick‑up. Qualifications Experience in high‑volume spay/neuter or fast‑paced surgical settings Strong animal handling and restraint skills Familiarity with anesthesia monitoring and surgical prep Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a high‑through put environment Excellent teamwork and communication skills Preferred Experience HQHVSN protocols Shelter medicine or community clinic background Comfort working with feral cats and nervous dogs Schedule We offer fully flexible relief scheduling .
