Veterinary Assistant and Technician Perris Animal Hospital Perris, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $23 - $32 an hour Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Companion animal handling Direct patient care Patient monitoring Veterinary Technician Certification Animal catheterization IV insertion Surgery Anesthesiology Veterinary dentistry Veterinary technician experience Full Job Description Perris Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and reliable Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary team. The applicant will assist the veterinarian in providing high-quality medical care to patients while helping maintain smooth daily clinic operations. Duties include assisting during exams, procedures, and surgeries; preparing and monitoring patients for anesthesia and recovery; collecting and processing laboratory samples; taking radiographs; administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed; placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and monitoring hospitalized patients; maintaining accurate medical records; educating clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care; and keeping exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean and organized. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication and teamwork skills, and demonstrate genuine compassion for both animals and their owners. The position requires the ability to lift and restrain animals, stand for extended periods, and perform the physical duties of a busy veterinary hospital.
