Full Job Description Job Summary:
Emergency Experience is a must. This is a weekend and overnight shift, we are currently on 4/10s but will be transitioning to 3/12s. We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our veterinary staff in providing care to a variety of animals, ensuring their well-being and comfort. 3 years of experience, only candidates that meet this criteria will be contacted for further evaluation.
Duties:
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
  • Handle and restrain animals during treatments
  • Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
  • Perform laboratory procedures such as blood draws and cytology
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Skills:
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy, diseases, common emergencies, triage and comfortable with anesthesia.
  • Experience with EzyVet and SmartFlow a plus
  • Understanding of veterinary practices and terminology
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques in a medical setting
