Job Description

Job Overview Del Paso Veterinary clinic in Sacramento is looking for a veterinary assistant/receptionist. Candidate must have excellent customer service skills and be able to multitask. 1-2 years of current experience as a veterinary assistant/ receptionist is preferred but willing to train the right person. Candidate must be comfortable interacting directly with pets Responsibilities Greet clients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and client communications efficiently Assist with animal restraint during examinations or procedures to ensure safety for animals and staff Maintain accurate records of pet information, medical histories, and treatment details using veterinary terminology Prepare examination rooms and assist with laboratory procedures or sample collection as needed Provide compassionate pet care and ensure animals are comfortable during their visit while adhering to aseptic techniques Handle front desk duties including answering phones, processing payments, and managing client inquiries Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring animals post-procedure or during hospitalization when required Room patients and collect medical histories, maintain accurate medical records. Provide routine patient care and administer vaccine Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for pets, clients, and staff during examinations and procedures Experience in veterinary clinics or as a veterinary assistant highly desirable; knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
