Full Time Veterinary Assistant/RVT

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Cuesta Park. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians in delivering top-notch care for cats and dogs. Team members work 40 hours per week utilizing 8 hour shifts between Monday-Friday and the hours of 07:30-05:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Perform diagnostic tests, such as bloodwork, imaging, and laboratory procedures. Monitor patients during surgical and recovery periods. Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment plans. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records. Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care. Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.

Qualifications:

Must be a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of California or have experience in a veterinary hospital. Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required. Proficient in veterinary medical procedures and protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with Cornerstone software and Idexx lab machines is a plus.
