Responsibilities Make clients and their pets feel comfortable and welcome. Fill medications and administer vaccinations. Perform TPR and take medical history from clients. Assist Veterinarians during examinations. Able to gently handle, lift and restrain dog and cat of all sizes. Provide information and education about services offered. Be able to sit, stand, walk, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift. Triage routine, urgent, and emergency situations. Complete a full diagnostic work-up, including lab work, X-rays, and other in-house diagnostics. Assist in general practice surgeries, including pre- and post-surgical care. Able to draw blood and place IV catheters. Dental scaling, polishing, and x-ray skills are a plus. Experience with gentle or fear-free handling techniques is a plus. Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit is preferred or must be eligible to apply while working at TVAH. Qualifications and Skills Excellent customer service skills. Excellent communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Experience in the veterinary field is required. Willing to work on Saturdays. Start date will be early September. Benefits Salary range is $22-26/ hour, depending on experience. Alternate work week schedule (4/10). Closed Sundays. Paid holidays and vacation. Medical and Dental health insurance. $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
