Job Description
Veterinary Assistant Stroh Ranch Pet Health Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a solid understanding of veterinary practices. This role involves providing support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to our patients. The Veterinary Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of animals while assisting with various clinical tasks. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in daily clinical procedures and treatments Provide excellent animal care, including feeding, and exercising animals as needed Handle animals safely and effectively using proper restraint techniques Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or technician Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including examination rooms and kennel areas Prepare animals for surgery, including monitoring vital signs and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples and performing basic tests Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health and care instructions Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient Support front desk operations when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices Experience with animal handling, restraint, and medication administration is highly desirable Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques is a plus Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
