Full Job Description Who We Are:
The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery is a new, purpose-built surgical center in the heart of Greenwich's West End. Spanning 10,000+ square feet and designed from the ground up, we're bringing cutting-edge surgical and critical care services to a region that has long needed them. This is our second HVS location, and we're building it with the same focus that made our first a destination for exceptional patient outcomes, supportive and transparent team culture, and forward-thinking medicine.
What You'll Do:
We are looking for a Surgery Assistant to join our surgical team. This person will help keep the OR running smoothly before, during, and after procedures. This is a hands-on role. The Surgery Assistant will help prep the OR, assist the veterinarian during surgery, turn over rooms between procedures, and clean and sterilize instruments. The right person has veterinary experience, understands sterile technique, and is comfortable working in a surgical setting. Responsibilities Assist the veterinarian and surgical team during procedures Scrub in to assist in the operating room when needed Help prepare the OR before procedures Assist with patient prep before surgery Turn over operating rooms between procedures Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments Keep surgical supplies stocked and communicate when items are running low Follow sterile technique and hospital surgery protocols Help keep the surgery area clean, organized, and ready for the next procedure Support patient care and recovery as needed Help with other duties as requested by hospital leadership
What We Require:
Veterinary medicine experience required Sterile OR experience required Surgery experience strongly preferred Comfortable with surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR turnover Able to stay organized and focused in a busy hospital setting Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working as part of a team Willingness to jump in where needed

The pay range for this role is: $23-$26.
