Veterinary Assistant/Technician South Patrick Animal Hospital South Patrick Animal Hospital is Brevard's first beachside veterinary clinic. We offer traditional and holistic medicine such as acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments to a range of species who are mainly dogs and cats but include small mammals like rabbits and guinea pigs. We are seeking a full time Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team of pet health advocates to help us care for our beloved community. The right candidate must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, good work ethic, ability to take initiative and be able to work in a fast paced environment to guarantee our patients and clients are cared for. Compassion and integrity are a must 1+ years in animal handling in a veterinary setting is required Daily position specific duties will include: Animal Handling Exam room assistance Sample collection including fecal, urine and learning blood collection if not yet experienced. Advanced training, if not already skilled to do so, will include laboratory and surgery skills which include microbiology, surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement as well as induction and intubation. Other daily duties will include : Basic phone and computer use House cleaning Ensure each client feels valued and satisfied with the services they received Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff. Relaying the importance and value of services to owners The schedule will vary but can expect a range of 32-35 hours per week. Work week is typically Monday-Friday with 1 weekday off and no weekend shifts. Pay and job title will be based on past experience and ability.
