Veterinary Technician Assistant (Experienced)

Job Description:

We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Fear Free team. This is a high-level support role designed for a clinical professional who excels at assisting both Veterinarians and Technicians in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you aren't just "helping out"—you are an active part of the medical workflow.

You will be responsible for:

Surgical & Anesthesia Support:

Assisting technicians with patient prep, equipment setup, and monitoring stable patients under supervision.

Clinical Procedures:

Setting up laboratory tests, preparing vaccines, and assisting with post-operative care.

Advanced Handling:

Utilizing Fear Free methods for restraint during exams and diagnostics.

Patient Advocacy:

Monitoring hospitalized pets and ensuring their comfort and hygiene. Who the

Ideal Candidate Is:

You have at least 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic. You are comfortable in a treatment room and understand the flow of a surgical day. You are looking for a role where you can utilize your clinical skills (like anesthesia monitoring and lab work) while focusing on supporting the primary medical team.

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting (Required). Proficiency in Fear Free handling or a willingness to become certified. Experience with basic anesthesia monitoring and surgical prep is a plus.

This is a non-credentialed assistant position.
