Job Description

Overview Join our Dynamic veterinary Team as a Veterinary Assistant where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a compassionate environment, supporting our Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarian with essential clinical tasks and providing outstanding pet care. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, hard working and eager to learn and grow with our hospital. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques Handle animals safely and confidently, utilizing restraint techniques for various species including dogs, cats, and equines Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, bathing, and monitoring health status to ensure optimal well-being Conduct laboratory tests including sample collection, processing specimens, and operating diagnostic equipment like X-ray machines Support dental procedures by helping with anesthetic monitoring as well as assisting with pet dental cleanings and treatments Manage animal catheterization, IV placement, and other critical care procedures with precision and care Maintain detailed records of animal treatment plans, and laboratory results to ensure accurate documentation Assist with pet care education for clients Qualifications Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience preferred. Ability to perform animal restraint effectively across different species while ensuring safety for animals and staff Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate pet owners about animal care needs techniques required for clinical support roles. Experience with X-ray operation or veterinary critical care procedures is advantageous Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate pet owners about animal care needs A genuine passion for animal welfare combined with the ability to work efficiently in a busy veterinary setting. Pay:
$16.00 - $25.00 per hour
