We are a privately owned small animal practice that values teamwork, kindness, accountability, and excellent patient care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on animal care, likes staying busy, and understands that excellent hospital support work matters. Our Kennel Assistants play a key role in patient comfort, hospital cleanliness, stocking, laundry, and daily flow. This is an important position for someone who is reliable, observant, coachable, and willing to jump in where needed. The role also supports opening and closing structure and prioritizes key end-of-day responsibilities like vacuuming, mopping, taking out trash, and restocking. What You'll Do Care for pets in clinic with close attention to comfort and cleanliness Walk pets, clean kennels, refresh bedding, and maintain clean and dry blankets and towels Provide water and basic comfort care as appropriate for each patient Support general hospital cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, trash removal, and disinfecting Restock treatment and hospital supplies so the team has what they need throughout the day Assist the veterinary team with animal handling and restraint Help maintain organized workspaces and support smooth patient flow Complete opening and closing duties thoroughly and on time Follow task timelines and role-specific checklists Communicate clearly with the team and ask questions when unsure Represent the hospital with professionalism, kindness, and a willingness to help What We're Looking For Reliable attendance and punctuality Confidence, initiative, and a strong work ethic Comfort working around dogs, cats, cleaning tasks, messes, and odors Ability to stay organized and complete routine tasks without constant reminders Willingness to learn hospital flow, exam room support, and animal handling Good observational skills and attention to detail Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team Ability to receive feedback and continue improving Animal experience is preferred; veterinary or shelter experience is a plus Ideal Traits The best fit for this position is someone who: notices what needs to be done and does it takes pride in a clean and organized hospital stays calm and helpful in a busy environment communicates respectfully and confidently is eager to grow within veterinary medicine Growth Opportunity This role can be a strong starting point for someone who wants to grow in veterinary medicine.
