Looking for a full-time Veterinary assistant. We are a privately owned, small animal practice located in Palm Coast, Florida. Palm Coast is a growing small town with lots of great outdoor activities. Our practice is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 8am to 5 pm, Wednesday & Saturday 8 am to noon and closed on Sundays. We have a terrific staff and are looking to add another energetic, fast-paced learner to our team. We love our clients and strive to provide excellent, compassionate care while keeping our clients informed and happy with the care their fur-babies receive. Veterinary assistant duties include lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, holding dogs and cats for exams/procedures, ability to clearly communicate with doctors and staff, ability to clearly communicate with clients, ability to clearly write needed information in client records, computer skills, laboratory work, sweeping, mopping, cleaning of surfaces and cages, cleaning of bathrooms and any other associated tasks deemed necessary. This position includes a considerable amount of holding animals and cleaning. Desire to work as part of a team, dependability and punctuality are integral parts of the job. All candidates must be self motivated and have a desire to actively contribute to the team. This position includes a combination of 8 to 9 hour shifts (8 am to 5 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) , 4 hour shift on Wednesday and working Saturdays/4 hour shift (8am to noon). Expectation will be for 36 to 40 hours per week. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
