Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Seasonal Wildlife Rehab Technician and make a meaningful impact on local wildlife conservation efforts! In this vital role, you will assist in the care, rehabilitation, and release of injured or orphaned wild animals, ensuring they receive the highest standard of rehabilitation and animal husbandry care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and in a fast-paced environment, applying your animal handling skills and veterinary knowledge to support native wildlife during critical recovery periods. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster successful wildlife releases and promote healthy ecosystems. Responsibilities Provide daily animal husbandry, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status of diverse wildlife species. Assist with animal restraint techniques for examinations, treatments, or transport, ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Administer medications and treatments accurately following rehabilitation instructions, maintaining detailed records of all procedures. Maintain clean and organized animal enclosures, equipment, and supplies to promote optimal health conditions. Handle animals with care using proper restraint methods; ensure humane treatment at all times during rehabilitation processes. Support front desk operations by managing intake documentation, answering inquiries, and coordinating release schedules. Experience Prior wildlife experience preferred, kennel experience or animal husbandry background required Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians enhances your ability to support medical procedures effectively. Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology is essential for understanding treatment plans. Hands-on experience with animal restraint, medication administration, and laboratory procedures is highly desirable. Strong animal handling skills combined with an understanding of aseptic techniques ensure safe and effective care delivery. Previous veterinary assistant or critical care experience will help you adapt quickly to the demands of wildlife medical needs.
