Job Description

Compassionate Animal Lovers Wanted — Join Our Veterinary Team We are seeking a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to help support patient care and hospital operations in a fast-paced veterinary clinic environment. This position is ideal for someone interested in veterinary medicine, animal care, or clinical support work. Whether you already have veterinary experience or are eager to grow your skills, we are looking for team members who are reliable, hardworking, and committed to excellent patient care.
What You'll Do:
Patient Care & Animal Handling Safely restrain dogs and cats during exams and treatments Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with procedures Monitor hospitalized pets and report concerns Feed and care for hospitalized patients Assist with nail trims, ear cleanings, bathing, and basic comfort care Clinical Support Administer medications and treatments under supervision Collect laboratory samples (urine, fecal, blood) Assist with X-rays and diagnostic procedures Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas Clean and sterilize surgical instruments Prepare surgical packs and maintain equipment Hospital Operations Clean and disinfect hospital areas Stock supplies and treatment areas Enter patient records and charges into computer systems Help maintain an organized and efficient clinic environment What We're Looking For Compassion for animals and clients Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to multitask in a busy environment Reliability and attention to detail Ability to safely handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments Veterinary or animal care experience preferred but not always required Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is helpful: Veterinary clinics Animal hospitals Boarding facilities Kennels Pet care Animal handling Customer service Medical or healthcare environments Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand and move throughout shifts Comfortable working around animals, medical equipment, and cleaning products Schedule & Benefits Full-time and part-time opportunities available Opportunities for training and skill development Supportive team environment Employee pet care discounts may be available
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
